I’ll keep this one short and sweet: you probably don’t want to go with the trendiest photography styles. Let me explain.

Google Results for the “Boho Wedding Preset.” Many photographers purchase presets like these, then apply them to their photographs.
Like jeans, hair, and shoes, photography goes through fads. Some of them are fun, some are a testament to human creativity…and others are just questionable.

Back in high school (when I still had hair), I was big into the emo scene. I had the band t-shirts and an iPod mini loaded up with hyper obscure bands that I could mansplain to my “mainstream” friends. The only thing between me and MySpace immortality was emo hair.
I begged my parents, but they said I’d regret later. And thank God. They were so right.
I’m not saying that current photographic trends are as bad as emo hair. But I do think that it is important to be aware of them as you look for your wedding photographer. And if All orange everything is your vibe, lean into it.
Just be mindful of how your pictures will look in twenty years.
I edit my galleries to be vibrant and real. Your wedding pictures might well be hanging around your house forever, and I believe that, like jeans and a t-shirt, photographs should be timeless.
